We invite you to join us for our eighteenth annual Scholarship Benefit Concert on Monday, May 12th at 7:00 PM in the Peck School of the Arts Recital Hall. This year we will be honoring Dr. Erwin O. Hirsch with the 2008 Arts Leadership Award. Dr. Erwin O. Hirsch Dr. Hirsch has been a longtime friend [...] Dr. Erwin Hirsch Dr. Erwin Hirsch, a member of the String Academy Board of Directors since the fall of 1990, was born in Vienna, Austria. He began his musical studies on the piano at the age of eight. Among his first piano teachers was a Mr. Rose, a grandson of Gustav Mahler. As an avid supporter of the Arts in Milwaukee since the early seventies, she has seen many positive improvements and developments.
