[...]  2011 Practice Competition Group Winner Goltermann Duport Cello group Goltermann Duport celebrated their Top Group Average win of the 2011 Practice Compeitiion with a pizza party, proving once again that practice pays off! On February 19th, that dream came true for violinist Dee Luo, a student of Katherine Brooks at the String Academy. As part of the American High School Honors Performance Series, she and 400 other students played in the elite performance hall to [...] Samuel Lee, Winner of the 2011 SAW Cello Competition Congratulations to Samuel Lee, winner of the 2011 String Academy of Wisconsin Cello Competition. Samuel will be featured on the Spring Play-In Concert on April 16, playing the Vivaldi’s Cello Concerto in d minor, RV 406I. Vivaldi Abigail Schneider Abigail Schneider has been studying violin with Katherine Brooks for six years and is a member of the String Academy of Wisconsin’s Advanced Violin Ensemble. Abigail was one of the winners of this year’s MSO Bach Double Competition. She also has received an Honorable Mention in MYSO’s Concerto [...] The fall semester is off to a great start, and our Fall Concerts are right around the corner.
