The String Academy of Wisconsin (SAW) has sunset after 32 years. This website is now an archival resource for Alumni and friends. We have kept it online so you can reminisce and enjoy the many wonderful events and accomplishments that SAW produced over so many years. Alumni are not only caring contributing members of their communities, but their musical talents have taken them in many directions, on many levels. We are proud of the impact we made, and thank all of you for your support over the years.

We are excited to welcome our friends from the Peabody Pre-Conservatory Violin Program (Baltimore, MD) to Milwaukee! Come join us on Sunday, April 24th, 1:30 PM in the UWM Recital Hall, for our Concert showcasing violin groups from each program, concluding with a combined performance. Don’t miss this special collaborative concert – an afternoon to listen, enjoy and support the work of both the Milwaukee and Baltimore violin students. (Admission is free, no tickets required)
We are very excited to announce that this Saturday, October 30th, at 11:00 AM, is a great String Academy tradition: the Halloween Concert! We hope you can join us to see and enjoy the great work our students have done since we’ve been able to return in person. This year, we have an additional viewing option. Dear String Academy Friends and Families, Can you believe that Spring is just around the corner? Although we are not doing our traditional flower sale, our partner of 31 years, Shady Lane Greenhouse, has again offered a good option for those of us who would like to purchase flowers or other plants. If you go to Shady Lane Greenhouse in person and tell them that your purchase should go to support the String Academy of Wisconsin, they will donate 25% of your purchase price to the String Academy! (TIP: If you’re there on the weekend, you also might want to bring the kids to see their really neat KFH Legacy Model Train in action! ) Some details to understand:
You must tell them your purchase supports the String Academy of Wisconsin (they will write up your order on an invoice, instead of the cash register)
This program runs from April 1- June 30. You can go as many times as you wish.
This program only applies to regular priced items. But it does include their vast selection of plants, nursery stock, gardening supplies and merchandise, as well as get personalized advice from our helpful staff. Special orders are welcome too.
