Valentine’s Day Debut to Benefit String Academy

Violinist Corey Cerovsek performs his Milwaukee debut on February 14th in a benefit concert for the String Academy Endowment Fund.  The concert begins at 3 PM, Sunday, February 14, 1993 in the UWM Fine Arts Recital Hall. Tickets are $20 and may be ordered by calling The String Academy at 229-6121. Donors of $100 or more will receive a ticket and dinner with Corey and Katja at Director Mimi Zweig’s home following the concert. All proceeds from this concert benefit the String Academy Endowment Fund.

Corey and his sister, Katja Cerovsek, piano, will perform sonatas by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Richard Strauss, a collection of pieces by Fritz Kreisler, and Carmen Fantasy by Pablo de Sarasate.  Corey will also be featured in “Summer” from The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi, accompanied by the SAW Chamber Orchestra, conducted by James Przygocki.

While studying with world-renowned violin pedagogue Josef Gingold, Corey became the youngest-ever graduate of Indiana University, receiving Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Music and Mathematics by age 16.  Now 20 years old, he has established himself as an internationally-acclaimed violin soloist. Corey and Katja Cerovsek often appear in recital together, and have performed on Johnny Carson’s “Tonight Show.”
