Seven violinists from SAW joined pre-college violinists from Northwestern University, Indiana University, University of Wyoming-Laramie and Peabody Pre-College for a weekend of masterclasses, pedagogy panels and sessions and the Sunday gala concert. Each group also performed repertoire independently as well performing combined group pieces by Bartok, Kreisler, and Veracini.

The SAW Spangled Banner Project
Jamie : February 3, 2010 8:51 am : Audio, Events, Media, Photos, Student News, VideoOn Saturday, January 30, almost 60 String Academy students participated in a recording of a special arrangement of the Star Spangled Banner, affectionately referred to as the “SAW” Spangled Banner. The level of excitement and discipline was was overwhelming, and the results speak for themselves. Congratulations to all who were involved! Keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned for further developments.

I Cellisti Perform at University of Miami

On Monday, March 9th, our wonderful ensemble I Cellisti, led by Scott Cook, performed at “Cello Days,” hosted by the University of Miami and presented by the Florida Cello Club. In addition to their performance, the Cellisti were able to participate in classes by renowned cello professor Helga Winold of Indiana University, as well as take in some sun and go snorkeling! Please listen to and enjoy the following recordings of two movements from Dvorak’s Bagatelles, Op 47, that were recorded live in Miami.
